GENEVA – Richard J. “RJ” Bruno, 42, of Geneva, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in his home after a brief illness surrounded by his family. Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday morning, November 19th, in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to the St. Francis/St. Stephen’s Education Fund. RJ was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Richard J. and Suzanne Van Blarcum Bruno. He was a graduate of Geneva High School, Class of 1994, and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. RJ was a heavy equipment operator for Massa Construction and ran his family business. He is survived by his wife, Jami Tiballi Bruno; his son Jonathan Bruno and his daughter Ella Bruno; his brother, Joseph (Joanne) Bruno of Waterloo; his uncle, Louis Bruno of FL; his aunt, Mary Ann (Richard) Sphierloh of Lake Charles, LA; his mother-in-law, Patricia (Robert Shaw) Talomie of Geneva; his father-in-law, James (Martha) Tiballi of Geneva; his brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Joanne James) Tiballi of Geneva; his niece, Brianna Uvani and his nephew, Richard Bruno. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harold and Marian Van Blarcum.
