GENEVA – Maureen P. Buckley, 66, of Beacon St., passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, in Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva on Monday, August 21, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Geneva Center of Concern, 58 Avenue D, Geneva, NY 14456. Maureen was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident.  She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Lou Campbell Buckley.  She was a graduate of De Sales High School Class of 1970, Maria Regina College in 1972, and Empire State College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. She worked at Geneva General Hospital and the University of Rochester at Strong.  She was the billing manager for the Radiology Department at Strong.  She was a life member of the Girl Scouts of USA having been a leader for many years.  She was a member of Seneca Yacht Club, a past member of Zonta International, Healthcare Financial Management Association,; and a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She is survived by her very special sister, Joanne C. Buckley; her brother Daniel (Nancy) Buckley; her niece, Amy (Kevin) De Bello; Nephew  Kevin (Beth Bundy) Buckley; great nieces and nephews: Kaitlyn and Kira De Bello, Conor, Sean and Anna Buckley; Uncle Richard (Carolyn) Campbell; and many special cousins and friends.  She wants everyone to know she had the best family ever. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Mary Elizabeth (Mary Liz) Buckley, and special grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She wants to especially thank “Team Buckley” (Joanne and Eileen Buckley) for their special love and care during her illness, as well as the special care provided by Dr. Michael Collins, Dr. Marc Sadovnic, Dr. Dirk Bernold, the staff at Interlakes Oncology and Hematology, Linda Lord (NP), and the physicians in the GI Division of the University of Rochester.
