Jeanne A. Napolitano

GENEVA - Jeanne A. Napolitano, 82, of Indian Wells, CA, formerly of Geneva, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in her home. Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in St. Stephen's Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum. Afterward, the family invites friends and relatives to join them at a reception at Geneva Country Club from 12:30-4 p. m. In lieu of flowers, the Family requests memorial donations be made to the Mayo Clinic Hyperoxaluria Center, Mayo Clinic, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55095. Jeanne was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 8, 1931, the only child of Salvatore and Angelina Cardinale. She graduated valedictorian from Bay Ridge Highs School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Pratt Institute. She made her career as a fashion designer in New York City until the birth of her children. In 1967 she relocated with her family to Geneva, NY, where she spent nearly thirty years raising her children and building lifelong friendships. Later in life, Jeanne divided her time between Chicago, II and Indian Wells, CA. She focused her volunteer activities around healthcare, donating significant time to both Geneva General Hospital and Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. An accomplished watercolorist throughout her life, her works won several awards from the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society. She is survived by her son, Steven (Karen) Napolitano and grandchildren, Vincent and Gabrielle of River Forest, IL; son Kenneth (Sally) Napolitano and grandchildren, David, Jack, and Andy of Victor, NY and her daughter Lisa Napolitano of Palm Desert, CA. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Vincent A. Napolitano in 1984.
