GENEVA – Chester A. Covert, 83, of Geneva passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Living Center North. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015, in Oaklawn Cemetery, Oaks Corners. The Rev. Phyllis Granger will officiate. Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Chester was born in Waterloo, N Y and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was the son of the late Charles and Esther Miles Covert. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps during the Korean War. He was employed at the A & P Grocery chain, Eastman Kodak, and retired from the Hulse Mfg. Co. as a supervisor. Following his retirement he was employed at the National Bank of Geneva. He was a member of Winnek Post #396 American Legion, V. F. W. Post #2670 and loved racing cars and watching NASCAR, spending time with his family. He is survived by his second wife, Anne Anderson; his son, Joseph (Phyllis) Covert of Baton Rouge, LA, his step-children, Karen (Joseph) Fratto of Geneva and Thomas (Paula) Anderson of Geneva , John (Carol) Anderson of Auburn and Kevin Anderson of Geneva; Nine step grandchildren, Ten Step Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna Mae Snowney Covert.
