Cheryln Ann LaVoie

September 22, 1954 - September 9, 2021

GENEVA - Cheryln Ann LaVoie passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021 at the age of 66. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen’s Church in Geneva, N.Y. at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Peace Parish. She was born to the late James and Dorothy Calabrese on September 22, 1954 in Geneva, NY. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, class of 1973. She earned a degree in cosmetology, and then later was employed at the Ontario County Sheriff's Department as a cook supervisor. In her retirement years, Cheryln and her husband were snowbirds, residing in Kerrville, Texas for the winter months. Cheryln married the love of her life, David Thomas LaVoie Sr. on May 1, 1976. She is survived by her husband, David, as well as their two sons; David Thomas (Carey) LaVoie Jr. and Daniel James (Laura) LaVoie ; and also by their grandchildren; Henry, Brandon, Grace, David III, Andrew, Jake, and Emily; her brother Joseph (Peggy) Patnesky Cheryln loved her family, and spending time with them was so special to her. She also enjoyed spending her days with her beloved dog, Izzy. She was a very religious and spiritual person. She enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to the Adirondacks. Other hobbies that she enjoyed were cooking, canning, and preparing food, as well as hosting family Sunday dinners. The traditions that she passed on will live on in both her children and grandchildren.
