Beryl E. Mulvey

July 25, 1925 - February 25, 2011

Geneva - Beryl Elizabeth (Murray) Mulvey, 85, passed away peacefully in Geneva General Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2011 after a brief illness with her family at her side. Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home 181 N. Main St., on Monday (Feb 28) from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (Mar 1) in the funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. If desired, contributions in Beryl's memory may be made to St. Francis/St. Stephen's School Education Fund. Beryl was born in Phelps, NY and was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Elizabeth Sabine Murray. She was a graduate of DeSales High School, Class of 1942, attended Freeman Business School in Geneva and worked at Sampson Naval Base during World War 11, and for many years in the Business Office of Geneva General Hospital as the Outpatient Accounts Manager. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, the Winnek Post # 396 American Legion Auxiliary, belonged to Seneca Lake and Geneva Country Clubs and also enjoyed bowling for a number of years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed classic movies and always was interested in current events, both local and national and international. She also loved following sports and academic achievements of her grandchildren. From the early 60's on, Beryl and her entire family spent their summers together at the family cottage in Pastime Park on Seneca Lake. She is survived by her son: David G. Mulvey of Geneva, her daughter: Beryl L. (Bruce R.) Teague Sr. of Geneva; her grandchildren: Bruce R. (Sandy) Teague Jr. of Stanley, Tiffany L. (Tim) Cohrs of Geneva and Beryl E. "Beth" (Brian ) Mabry of Orchard Park, NY.; her great grandchildren: Kacie Harris, Hayden and Gavin Teague; Beth, Leo and Teagan Cohrs and Reed and Pierce Mabry. Several nieces and nephews. Beryl will be greatly missed by her family, loving friends and wonderful neighbors. She was prececeased by her husband of 52 years, Leo J. Mulvey Jr. in 1997, an infant son and daughter and brothers: Richard F., John G. and Daniel E. Murray.
