Antoinette S. Howard

GENEVA – Antoinette S. “Nan” Howard, 79, of Lafayette Ave., passed away with her family by her side on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. At Nan’s request there will be no prior calling hours. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, in St. Stephen’s Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Nan was born on October 8, 1935 in Canandaigua, NY, the daughter of Gaetano and Laura Simeone. Her parents passed away when she was very young and she and her sisters were raised by their aunt, Amelia Pastore. Nan was a graduate of DeSales High School, class of 1953, and was active in alumni activities throughout the years. Nan held many jobs over the course of her life, spending many years with SAGA food service at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She was the owner and operator of Howard’s Ladies Apparel in downtown Geneva for over ten years. For the first sixteen years of her marriage, she was a supportive naval spouse, being stationed in Philadelphia, Norfolk, and Groton, CT. She was an avid golfer, and was a past member of the Board of Directors at Geneva Country Club. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert F. Howard of Geneva; her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Liz Howard of Fairport; her precious granddaughters, Sydney and Anna Howard of Fairport; her sister, Isabelle (Paul) Sullivan of Geneva; brother-in-law, Peter J. D’Amico of Geneva; sister-in-law Sandra (Arthur) Shadforth of Merritt Island, FL and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Mary L. D’Amico, and her mother-in-law, Gertrude R. Howard.
