GENEVA – Allen L. “Al” Tauterouff, 77, of Clinton St. passed away at Geneva General Hospital on Sunday, (February 22, 2015) after a short illness. Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St. Geneva on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. Members of the Finger Lakes Moose Lodge #9633 will have a service for their departed brother at 6 p.m. Members of the Phelps American Legion will present Military Honors at 6:15 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Phyllis Granger will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in Whitney Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation or to the American Heart Association. Allen was born in Waterloo, NY. He was the son of the late Paul and Marion Jolly Tauterouff Sr. Allen resided in Geneva for many years. He retired from the American Can Co. in Geneva after 32 years. He served his country in the US Marine Corp from 1954-57 and spent the next sixteen years with the Army National Guard. He was a member of the VFW Post #2670, the Phelps American Legion, and a member of the Finger Lakes Moose club where he had the highest degree - the Pilgrim Degree. He enjoyed playing cards, planting a vegetable garden, and country music. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving children: Allen Tauterouff Jr. of Syracuse, Robin (Kathy) Tauterouff of Canandaigua, Joy (Frank) Trotta of Geneva, Michele (Tauterouff) Turner of Virginia, Mark (Nira) Tauterouff of Texas, Thomas Hadden and David Suchy of Missouri, David Hadden of Geneva, Mary Beniamino of Geneva, Joe (Vickie) Hadden of Clyde, and Rick (Pam) Chester of Geneva. His sisters:, Pat (Ed) Conklin, Alana (John) Clapper, and Lillian (Mark) Thomas. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Allen was predeceased by his wife, Ruth; his daughter, Holly Tauterouff; and his brother, Paul Tauterouff Jr. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors and nurses on 2nd Floor of Geneva General Hospital for caring for Allen.
